Plot[]

It was a very cold morning. The Farmer shivered in his bed. "Brrr!" The Farmer went downstairs to make a fire. 'Oh no!' The Farmer had run out of wood. The Farmer needed to collect more wood for the fire. He called his dog Bitzer, then got into his truck. Shaun and his friends watched the Farmer drive away. "Yes! They were free!" Shaun and his friends ran up to their favorite big, green tree in the corner of the farm. They danced around the tree, they swung on it, they had fun. The sheep loved the big, green tree.

The Farmer and Bitzer were out in the fields. They looked for wood. The wood needed to be nice and thick for the fire. Bitzer found a good tree. The trunk was nice and thick. He got to work... Suddenly, an angry dog appeared! "Phew!" It was time to go back to the farm!

Shaun saw the Farmer's truck driving down the lame. He signaled to his friends. Their playtime was over. The Farmer and Bitzer got out of the truck. Everything looked the same as usual. Then the Farmer noticed the big, green tree. 'How many fires could he make from that?!"

Shaun listened to the Farmer. Then he rounded up his friends. The sheep needed to save the big, green tree! Shirley used her woolly tummy to bump into The Farmer. "Go, Shirley!" The Farmer fell into a muddy hole. The sheep cheered. They had stopped the Farmer!

The Farmer wasn't going to give up that easily. He climbed out of the hole and picked up the saw. The Farmer stopped. He stared at the big, green tree. Then he began to remember... The Farmer had played around the tree every day. He had swung from its branches, and sat in the shade of its thick leaves. When he was a little, he had carved a smiley face on its trunk.

The Farmer also loved the big, green tree. Everyone loved the big, green tree. The Farmer would never try to cut it down again.
